Building Tomorrow's QTC, Together
We are excited to share that we're working on some exciting updates, including a new logo, website, and platform. Before we formally announce these changes or any upcoming events, we wanted to give you an exclusive sneak peek of our refreshed branding and hear your thoughts on what you'd like to see from Queer Tech Club moving forward. We're all ears—what's been working well for you? What could we improve?

Queer Tech History
A significant part of our new branding will be honoring the history and legacy of the Queer and Transgender community in tech spaces. To start, we're highlighting Danielle Bunten Berry - a pioneer who understood technology's power to connect people decades before the rest of the industry caught up.
Long before Xbox Live or Discord servers, Danielle Bunten Berry was building the social future of gaming from Arkansas. After earning a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1974, she began creating revolutionary multiplayer games that recognized computers as tools for human connection rather than solitary entertainment. Her breakthrough game M.U.L.E. (1983) required four players to huddle around the same computer, while The Seven Cities of Gold (1984) pioneered the "open world" concept. In 1988, she released Modem Wars, one of the first games playable via phone lines and modems—essentially creating the infrastructure for modern online gaming. After transitioning in 1992, Berry faced industry discrimination but continued innovating with early internet multiplayer games until her death in 1998. Her vision that technology's greatest power lies in facilitating human connection was decades ahead of its time, quietly laying the groundwork for today's connected world.
This is just the beginning. Keep an eye out in the coming months for more stories and upcoming event announcements!
